Honestly I wouldn't do that. I don't even know what 4chan is. I just like to pretend...

Episode 11 is up.

In my opinion, the best episode of the season- if only for its near bat-shit craziness. This is the one I'd been waiting months to put together.

Also, Tim's finest work as far as I'm concerned.

Also, Tim, I'd be interested in your thoughts on these.

Holy shit that was hilarious! I just watched it on my lunch break and it was pretty hard to keep from laughing out loud.

I think the most genius part of it was cutting out the "LET'S GO LET'S GO LET'S GO" section and making it look like just a little bit more time had passed after my second or third trip to the bathroom. It helped keep things believable enough for the humor to work, as did the split of the episodes.

I'm very glad it came out so good. When I watched last week's episode, I'll admit I kind of felt a little ashamed of my performance and didn't watch it again until yesterday, when my wife wanted to see it. She's usually pretty critical of stuff like this and usually doesn't think I'm that funny in stuff like YAGD, but she thought I did a good job so it kind of made me feel better about it. I'd felt bad for not tweeting about it and stuff but I guess I'd been too scared until then.

But man, there are a lot of jokes in this episode. I think my favorite part is when Doogs(*sic*?) looks over to see me standing there to that music. I think by that point the show is aware of how absurd things are and really plays them up. I think the shows been long enough at this point that some of the other long-running jokes ("and 50 dollars in pie." "...bad choice.") are becoming more effective as well.

Speaking of, I really liked the spin on the music in this episode. I thought it was really fitting and made the episode seem more surreal.

Overall I'm quite grateful for how this turned out! Good job, Matt!

Also, that score has lodged "Sweet Dreams Are Made of These" in my head.

thanks!

and I'm glad to hear you're pleased. I got the feeling you weren't too hot on the last episode and was worried maybe you thought it was lame.

This episode is getting a hilarious reaction- mostly because people think we brutally murdered your character in cold blood.

I wonder how they'll react when we reveal Jeff's actual fate.

TUNE IN NEXT WEEK!

So, we watched episodes 10 & 11 at work and they got quite a few laughs from normal people who didn't have a vested interest in the series succeeding! If that is not a mark of success, I do not know what is.

I'm going to agree with Tim on his one, that string shriek with Jeff standing like a zombie with a dollar bill in his nose was the perfect accompaniment. I also thought it was hysterical when Doogs, Matt and Andrew were all arguing and the music drops out on the cut to crazy drugged out Jeff. The score was REALLY effective in this episode and I'm selfishly annoyed I had nothing to do with any of it.

I just showed this to a former coworker (Rodd Steele, if you've forgotten), who said this:
That is actually pretty funny and the production value is good as well. I fully support this and you…

The last part is comedic homoeroticness, but the first part- "actually pretty funny"- means that he, again, thinks its funny even in spite of knowing someone behind it!

Congrats again!

Andrew did the score to this and the next episode (though truthfully, the cues will just be recycled for #12).

Pushing these things out is tough business so Eric and Andrew trade scoring duties here and there to lessen the load. Andrew also did episodes 5, 6 and 7.

I meanwhile am left editing ALL BY MYSELF! PITY MEEEEEEEE

At least I have the satisfaction of some of my old music getting used in this episode (flipside, spin 6, and mr films all make appearances) although I gotta be honest if we ever do a screened version of this show, I want to write some original stuff for the first two examples Jeff plays.

Also, I've written a little diddy for a special scene in episode 12 as well.

I am looking forward to episode 12.

So, how is the response for the Andrew and Matt show so far? Any chance we'll see a season 2?

the response is positive but minimal, at best, so far. episodes one and 2 seemed to debut promisingly and each scored about 500 views right out of the gate- which I thought was good. But recently we struggle to nab anywhere near that.

while there were plans momentarily to shoot season 2 this summer (andrew and I even met once and fleshed out 6 episodes worth), I don't think we're going to do it.

that's not to say we won't ever but obviously not striking while the iron's hot (which it isn't) diminishes the chance of actually doing more.

which sucks but this is still the best thing we've ever produced and the great part is that even when it's done "running" it's still online and readily viewable as opposed to past features which had one or two screenings to make an impact.

speaking of which, we're probably going to publically screen this first season sometime in the next couple of months.

I plan to elaborate much much more on the experience of making this show once all episodes are out.

I dunno if we really should try for film festivals. Mainly cuz the season ends on such a cliffhanger. I really wish now that'd we'd made the first season more self contained. But we shall see.

Episode 12 will be online soon.
