Cowsay for Windows

Finally, the Cowsay application has arrived on the Windows platform.

Not since homebrewers finally succeeded in bringing over decent ports of Donkey Kong to the Intellivision has there been such a momentious occassion. Thought Windows couldn't handle running Cowsay? Think again.

Features

  • At long last, the power of Cowsay is accessible on the Windows command prompt you know and love.
  • Works with any batch file. No need to throw away your hard-earned batch file knowledge or switch to bash.
  • More than just a port- you could be forgiven for thinking this was a native app! Cowsay leverages the raw, beast like power of the Windows command prompt to render gorgeous high resolution cows. Eat your heart out, Linus Torvalds.

Wake your neighbors! Call your parents! Crank up that graphics card and get ready to rock out till the cows come home. The best feature of Linux can now be had on Windows.

Instructions

Either download the source code and build from scratch or use the prebuilt version from the zip file, then make sure cowsay.exe is listed on your PATH environment variable. Also set the environment variable "COWSAY_LOCATION" to the path containing the cow bitmaps.

You may need to install the Visual C++ Redistributable Packages for Visual Studio 2013 for Cowsay to work.
